Sometimes, a photo can tell a story better than words can.
“In Photos” – a series of photographic posts showcasing the beauty, the people, and the culture of a city or country in photos alone. In this series, I’m spotlighting Arizona!
Situated just one state away from sunny California, this state could not look and feel any more different. The desert landscapes here are next level — expect orange, red, and purple shades of rock to knock your socks off.
I’ll shut up now and just let the photos speak for themselves.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable outdoor experience in Northern Arizona, then you need to check out Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. These two extremely unique destinations are some of the most popular in the state, and for good reason!
They offer some of the most stunning landscapes imaginable. My trip to this part of Arizona really made me fall in love with the burnt orange color and what it can do in the right lighting. (Umm… it can do EVERYTHING.)
And the best part is, they are both easily accessible and can be visited on the same day trip from Page, AZ!
Here are some of my favorite shots of my Lower Antelope Canyon excursion. Plus a few from the cute little pitstop in Cameron, the Cameron Trading Post (which also serves as a motel!).
And below are some photos of Horsehoe Bend nearby. You really can’t visit one without visiting the other because of how close they are to each other!
Scottsdale, Arizona.
This place is such a quaint destination and it’s a shame that I hadn’t discovered it earlier! Scottsdale is a vibrant vacation town filled with luxury resorts, fine dining, and exciting outdoor adventures.
Though it may sometimes carry the stigma of being a posh destination for older, more mature travelers (of the retired sort), Scottsdale has a lot more to offer than just spas and golf courses.
The town’s got something for everyone – art, food, outdoor adventure, and a very cool Western vibe that is perfect for anyone who enjoys being transported away from the fast pace of city life and into the Wild Wild West!
Sedona, Arizona.
To me, Sedona is one of the coolest and prettiest places in Arizona — and even in the USA. If I’ve got a free 3-day weekend on my hands, Sedona is 9 times out of 10 one of the top three places I think to visit.
From Devil’s Bridge Hike to the Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, there are so many different ways to spend your weekend in Sedona — and it’s great because even people who don’t hike can enjoy the area!
This place has got jeep tours, great restaurants, and relaxing spas galore.
Grand Canyon, Arizona.
Grand Canyon is a beaut in the winter! I have yet to visit in the summer, but that’s because I’m actually trying to avoid being in the desert in the summertime.
If you’re planning to visit the Grand Canyon this year, I’d recommend an early winter trip. The light dusting of snow along the canyon ridges is so magical!
Most of the photos below are from the sunrise hour.
