Belgium, what are they known for other than fries, beer, and chocolate? Well, when I was doing my research on what Belgian cities to visit, I gained a bit of useful intel. (Tip: definitely eat the fries.)
Into Art Deco? Head to Antwerp. If you’re into history and politics, maybe Brussels is more your taste. If you’re into fairytale vibes, hands-down make a stop in Bruges. What about Ghent? Ghent is unique in its own way. It’s like Brussel’s younger, hotter, and more interesting brother. It’s just a cool, down to earth and livable city, which is why I really enjoyed my visit here. If you’re thinking about Belgium, definitely make a stop and visit this city!
There’s the Gravensteen, a 10th-century medieval castle that boasts sweeping panoramic views of the city. Then there’s the Korenmarkt, the enchanting town square perfect for people watching. Wanna see the most beautiful spot in town? Head to the river to the Graslei or KorenleI and truly experience the chillness that is Ghent. Grab a seat at one of the many cafés along the river bank and enjoy some beer or coffee. Or, grab lunch to go and plop down onto the cobblestones on either side of the river, people watch and soak up the lively outdoor atmosphere.
What a dream…
